Leatherworkers, husband and wife duo Veronika and Bastien Boisanfray set up their leather workshop Verbua together in Bratislava in 2013. From their creative space in an old industrial zone of Slovakia’s capital, they handcraft leather bags, wallets, belts and custom made pieces. Keeping tradition alive, Bastien uses both techniques and old machines passed down by his father who used to create saddles and bags in Normandy, France. From the tender age of 13, Bastien was already learning from his father. United by their passion for leather working, Veronika and Bastien master the material through their skilful use of the machinery and hand tools. The result is high quality leather pieces which express their individual design aesthetics; classic with a contemporary twist.
