Artisanal workshops across Europe are throwing open their doors to visitors this week as part of Les Journées Européenes des Métiers d’Art (JEMA), an annual event offering the public the chance to find out more about artisanal professions. Created in France in 2002 and organised by the Institut National des Metiers d’Art (INMA), JEMA has since expanded to 18 other European countries, offering a programme of open door events, hands-on workshops, demonstrations, guided tours and numerous other activities.
