The Design & Crafts Council of Ireland will present its exhibition Surface Matters at the Artesania Catalunya – CCAM in June 2019. Presenting new and innovative works by artisans selected for the organisation’s Portfolio Critical Selection 2019-20, it includes several talents who exhibited at Homo Faber 2018: Cara Murphy, Jennifer Hickey, Nuala O’Donovan. Joe Hogan and Sasha Sykes. Surface Matters reveals how the surface quality of an object reveals the maker’s understanding, handling and processing of materials. After its stay in Barcelona, the exhibition will run at the National Design & Craft Gallery in Kilkenny, Ireland, from November 2019 to February 2020.
