Arthena is an association dedicated to raising the profile of craftspeople and crafts in French-speaking Switzerland. Its aim is to show their value to Swiss society, and how they can contribute culturally, economically and socially to its development. Arthena produces numerous reports and promotes local artisans in the national press and through a collection of dedicated books. They seek to educate the young generations of readers and show that crafts are not outdated but relevant to contemporary times. The association stages special events to bring artisans closer to their target audiences and encourages exchange and dialogue between them. They also work to connect businesses and prospective clients with talented artisans. From young talents to established artisans, Arthena is giving a platform to artisans working predominantly in the French-speaking region of Switzerland.
