The 11 criteria for excellence in craftsmanship were developed by author Alberto Cavalli and researchers Giuditta Comerci and Giovanna Marchello in their study The Master’s Touch. Through interviews with contemporary artisans, and analysis of terminology, legislation and public opinion, they established key criteria to provide a common language for describing artisans working at the top of their game.
To celebrate the publication of The Master’s Touch, we held panel discussions in Paris and London. Key figures in design and craftsmanship joined us to discuss this new common language for excellence in craftsmanship. This filmed discussion took place in London, UK, on 7 September 2017.
