The LGK Foundation was established in 2020 by Chief (Mrs) Edith Olusola Animashawun, in memory of her late husband, Chief Abdul Gaffar Omokayode Animashawun. The overall goal of the foundation is to catalogue, promote and protect African creativity and to consequently develop and elevate the notion of master craftsmanship in Africa. Central to this goal is the establishment, for the creative sector, of an environment that allows for economic development and the opportunities that accompany it. This requires, capacity-building, respect for the sector, and building pathways to regional, national and international markets. The foundation works at the nexus of these requirements.
