Homo Faber 12 Stone Garden - 28 October to 11 December 2022 at MOA Museum of Art. Atami, Japan

12 Stone Garden was one of the 15 exhibition spaces that made up Homo Faber Event 2022 which took place in Venice from 10 April to 1 May. The event celebrated the cultural dialogue between Europe and Japan. Curated by Naoto Fukasawa, 12 Stone Garden showcased the handcrafted masterpieces of 12 Japanese National Living Treasures. The exhibition was a success, mesmerising art lovers from all over the world and evoking enthusiastic responses towards Japan's fine craftsmanship.

Homo Faber 12 Stone Garden: Naoto Fukasawa and 12 Living National Treasures is the result of a desire to recreate the overwhelming success of 12 Stone Garden in Japan. Curated by Naoto Fukasawa and MOA’s director Tokugo Uchida, the masterpieces of the 12 participating master artisans will fill the space along with images taken by photographer Rinko Kawauchi. This autumn, experience the wonder of Japanese kōgei art and crafts at the MOA Museum of Art.
