Network Fondazione Giorgio Cini Foundation

The Fondazione Giorgio Cini is a non-profit cultural institution and humanistic and educational resource located on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, created in 1951 by Vittorio Cini to commemorate his son Giorgio, who had died tragically in an air crash in 1949. It supports research and houses substantial collections from fields including the visual arts, music, drama, literature and the history of the Venetian state. It mounts exhibits and hosts conferences and events related to its own activities, and welcomes events sponsored by other cultural and scientific organisations. The foundation also houses the Stanza del Vetro, a space dedicated to the very finest glasswork from around the world.
